~ Verse 45 ~

Luminous with the wisdom of Vedanta, like the
sun continually radiating its light, the Guru’s
lotus feet emanate the great Truths, the crest
jewels of the four Vedas:
Tat Tvam Asi – I Am That,
Prajñanam Brahman – Consciousness is Brahman,
Aham Brahmaasmi – I Am Brahman,
Ayam Atma Brahman – The Self is Brahman.

	sur – vu shroo – tee
	Note: Sarva means all, and shruti means "that which is heard", and refers to the Vedas, which were passed from generation to generation through oral tradition.
	shiroratna
	shee – ro – rut – nu
	Note: shiro means crest and ratna means jewel, so this is a reference to the core, or heart (the crest jewel) of the Vedic teachings. The crest jewels of the Vedas are known to be the great Mahavakyas. See: Understanding The Mahavakyas.
	viraajita
	vee – raa – jee – tu
	padaambujah
	pu – daam – boo – juh
	Note: ambujah means lotus, and pada means feet; the Guru's lotus feet

	Sarva shruti shiroratna, viraajita padaambujah
	Vedaantaam buja
	vay – daan – taam boo – ju
	Note: again we have ambuja, lotus. Antaam means end, so vedaantaam is the end of the Vedas: vedanta
	suryo yas
	soor – yo yus
	Note: Again, if you are familiar with hatha yoga, you know that the word suryo means sun, because surya namaskar is the sun salutation series of poses.
	tasmai shri gurave namaha

	Vedaantaam buja suryo yas, tasmai shri gurave namaha
	Now repeat the entire verse all together:
	Sarva shruti shiroratna, viraajita padaambujah; Vedaantaam buja suryo yas, tasmai shri gurave namaha.
	and repeat it, concentrating on the keywords:
	Sarva shruti shiroratna, viraajita padaambujah; Vedaantaam buja suryo yas, tasmai shri gurave namaha.
