Can I make CDs of the digital audio files I download?
Yes, easily. And if you need to make duplicate copies of the CD for yourself (for the car, for your home, etc.) you can - there's no copy protection on these files that restricts your ability to make copies.
That being said though, we ask as a matter of honor, that you NOT make copies to give away to friends. If you are enthusiastic about what you hear and want to share that - fantastic! But please invite your friends to visit the online store and buy their own copy. Or buy a gift certificate for them to use online. We are a small organization, and the store supports our efforts to make these teachings available worldwide. Safe-guard your own karma.
How to burn CDs: The easiest way is to bring your digital files into iTunes. Once your file is in iTunes, highlight it and choose File>New Playlist From Selection. A new playlist will be created with that one new file in it. Just highlight that playlist now and click the button on the lower right of iTunes that says "Burn CD" - and iTunes will direct you from there. All our digital files are pre-formatted so each file fits on one CD; you don't have to worry about the length being right to fit on a CD. If you don't use iTunes, your computer probably has other built-in features for burning CDs. Try simply inserting a blank CD and dragging the audio file onto it - see if you get a dialog that lets you burn it directly.

When you purchase a digital download from us, you'll be able to download the file for it. It will come over to you as a ZIP file - which is a compressed file format. Most computers will automatically uncompress this ZIP for you. Or you can right-click or control-click on it to find options for doing so.
Note: you cannot just start using the file you downloaded straight away. You have to uncompress it or unzip it first.
Once it is decompressed, you will have either a single mp3 file, or a number of mp3 files - depending on the title you bought. Verify that you are looking at the right files - sometimes the unzipping also puts out little side files that you can just ignore. The ones you are looking for will be about 20-30 MB each, and will have 'mp3' at the end of their name.
The best thing to do is to first move these files into the main folder or directory you use to store the other files in your iTunes. Then drag them into iTunes and you'll be good to go.
The thing is - you want to move these into their permanent location before adding them to iTunes, rather than just leaving them on your desktop or inside your downloads folder. Of course, it is possible to move them after the fact, after you have loaded them into iTunes, but it's a little more complex.
