This talk comes from the weekly meeting held in Pacific Palisades near the end of the teaching cycle of 2008. The theme of the talk was the importance of developing one's own character as well as one's consciousness.  Spiritual work relies on both aspects to be enhanced and nurtured, and as Mark says "Frankly, character is the more difficult of the two".  He talks about going through one's life and one's inner nature and cultivating it, like a field in which you turn over every stone, root and weed to cultivate raw ground into beautiful soil.   Wonderful talk!
