By just paying attention to the breath and letting it flow naturally, deeply and slowly, our attention is saturated with deeper consciousness. This opens the door to the apprehension of the space between the breaths, that point at which the senses switch off, that point at which nothing is happening.

The sense of being a physical body diminishes; you are aware of having a physical body but no longer think of it as “I.” This is the beginning of the perception of emptiness within oneself.
