As pure consciousness moves through your being, it lights you up like a city. You begin to see yourself in intense bas relief; it’s just like when you’re inside a canyon at night and a flash of lightening occurs and for a split second you can see every detail of the canyon, and then it’s dark again. This is very much the process of sadhana and especially the impact of interaction with a teacher.
The teacher has access to the states of samadhi, the formless reservoirs of pure consciousness, and they use their being like a lightening rod to draw the attention of consciousness, to pool its energy, and express it with great force producing the explosion of illumination within the student. Once a phenomenon is perceived it is changed by the very impact of that perception.
