Once you are drawn into the wheel of dharma and its operations through contact with the guru, you are changed and transformed, often in ways you can’t imagine. This process is spread out over a lifetime and can be difficult to spot at a single glance, but the effect is irresistible and absolute.
The enormous amount of light that is moved through you during this process acts like a spiritual fire. It purifies and reduces you. This is what a fire does when it burns something – it reduces it to its purest qualities.
Dharma acts on us in this exact same way. The force of dharma generates a profound heat that we experience as a deep pressure flowing throughout us, reducing all qualities into the light of consciousness. This process of purification is very much like the deep and immense pressures of the earth that turn carbon into diamond over vast stretches of time.
