About Hard Light
The Hard Light Center of Awakening is an organization founded and directed by Mark Griffin as a forum for the study of spirituality and meditation. Mark is a Meditation Master who is firmly established in the advanced samadhi states—rare strands of consciousness that lead to remarkable perception and spiritual accomplishment.

The arrangement of the Center's activity is one of Darshan—an old school style of interaction with the teacher. The teacher agrees to a meeting time and place, and interested people attend. One places oneself in the proximity of a being who is directly in touch with a state of enlightenment, that awesome splendor that lies within.

The process of engaging a teacher is profoundly simple and yet seems to draw out of us the most complex and stimulating experiences. This system of teaching is known as the Pointing Out school whereby the teacher points to the enlightened qualities that rest within each of the students by manifesting them directly. Because of the dynamic and experiential nature of this expression, it penetrates to the core and enlivens our realization of the Self. Whether the student is capable of totally grasping the significance of the moment or not is of secondary importance. The vibrations of Eternity have their impact.

The Center is made up of a broad assortment of people from all walks of life and all levels of accomplishment. Both newcomers and veterans continually inaugurate and deepen their practice through the very same format.

The Teachings

The study of spirituality is very subtle and difficult to perceive. It deals with a spectrum of experience that is entirely different than that of our day-to-day world.

The real study lies within, beneath the layer of language, words and symbols, as we understand them. It is the teacher's role to bring the student into some form of confrontation and relationship with this inner mystery.

There are actually two teachers: the outer and the inner teacher. The outer teacher is a guide and a coach preparing the student to make effective responses, and one who shows how to harmonize the inner and outer realities. The outer teacher prepares you for where the real teaching takes place-on the inner planes.
